Frequently asked questions

Yes. “100% online” means that you create your account, complete your personal data, select your options, upload the required documents, and finalize your application file directly within the admitereonline.utcb.ro platform, without the need for physical presence during the registration stage.

Yes. Please consult the video guide here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X-HzCuDLCoY.

If you have your documents prepared (clear scans or photographs) and your personal data readily available, the registration process takes approximately 2 minutes on average.

  1. Create an account →
  2. Complete your personal data →
  3. Select your options →
  4. Upload the required documents →
  5. Pay the registration fee (only once) →
  6. Submit the file for validation.

It means that your file has been processed within the platform: you have completed the application form, uploaded the required documents, paid the registration fee, and submitted the file to the admission committee for verification.

“Validated” means that your file has been reviewed by the committee and found to be correct: the documents are in order, and the information provided is accurate and compliant.

After the registration period closes, all validated files become eligible. “Eligible” means that your file has been accepted to proceed within the admission process, in accordance with the stages set out in the admission calendar.

The examination ID is generated once your file becomes eligible. It is available in your personal account on the platform and is used for identification and the communication of results.

Yes, until your file is validated and no later than the official closing of the registration period (as specified in the calendar). After registration closes, options can no longer be modified.

You may select as many options as permitted by the platform and the applicable regulations. The registration fee is paid only once, regardless of the number of options selected.

Yes. Your personal account allows you to review the completed data, uploaded documents, and selected options.

Results are available in two locations:

Appeals must be submitted exclusively by email to secretariat@utcb.ro, within the deadlines specified in the admission calendar.

First, consult the video guide: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X-HzCuDLCoY. If the issue persists, send an email to secretariat@utcb.ro, indicating your full name and examination ID (if already assigned).

Admission is organized at the level of the field of study. The selected field has priority in the ranking process; your programme options within that field are applied based on your admission average and the available places.

The field of study takes precedence. Ranking is conducted primarily within the priority field selected. If you choose options from another field, these may have lower priority compared to your main field, in accordance with the Regulation on the Organization of the Admission Competition.

After your file becomes eligible, you must submit the original baccalaureate diploma (the document on the basis of which you participate in the competition). Only upon submission of the original diploma is your file considered officially entered into the admission competition.

If the original diploma is not submitted within the deadline specified in the calendar, your file will not enter the competition and you may be declared rejected, as you have not fulfilled the mandatory participation requirement.

Ranking is carried out after formal entry into the competition (i.e., eligibility + submission of the original diploma), based on the selected field of study and the admission average.

The average is calculated based on the results obtained at the baccalaureate examination, expressed with two decimal places, without rounding.

The minimum general admission average is 6.00.

For programmes within the Engineering Sciences field, the admission average equals the arithmetic mean of:
  • the overall baccalaureate average; and
  • the grade obtained in Mathematics at the baccalaureate examination;
however, it may not be lower than the overall baccalaureate average.
(In practical terms, the admission average is at least equal to the baccalaureate average.)

In this case, the admission average equals the overall baccalaureate average.

For programmes within the Humanities and Arts field, the admission average equals the arithmetic mean of:
  • the overall baccalaureate average; and
  • the grade obtained in Romanian Language at the baccalaureate examination;
however, it may not be lower than the overall baccalaureate average.

In this case, the admission average equals the overall baccalaureate average.

Following ranking, your status may become “Admitted” or “Rejected,” depending on the applicable regulations and the availability of places. The examination ID remains unchanged throughout the entire process.

The next stage is enrolment, immediately following the competition (in accordance with the calendar). During this stage, original documents must be submitted and the required payments must be made (e.g., the enrolment fee of RON 150 and, where applicable, the first installment of the tuition fee for tuition-based places), as specified in the published instructions.

Files are reviewed by the admission committees or sub-committees, which validate the submitted documents and the accuracy of the provided information.

No. After the registration period has closed and the competition stages have commenced, options may no longer be modified, in accordance with the regulations and the admission calendar.

You must demonstrate proficiency in the language of instruction by means of:
  • educational documents issued in the respective language (from Romania or abroad); or
  • an internationally recognized language proficiency certificate.

In this case, you must take a qualifying language proficiency test, assessed as “pass/fail.” The result of this test does not contribute to the admission average.

For English (examples): Cambridge PET/FCE/CAE/CPE, IELTS, TOEFL, TOEIC, Pearson PTE, Trinity ISE, ECL, as well as a B2-level language certificate obtained at the baccalaureate examination or certificates issued by bilingual high school programmes (in accordance with the regulation).
For French: DELF/DALF, TCF, TEF, TFI, as well as a B2-level certificate obtained at the baccalaureate examination or certificates issued by bilingual high school programmes (in accordance with the regulation).

In the Regulation on the Organization of the Undergraduate Admission Competition – section concerning language proficiency and programmes taught in international languages.

This page is addressed to candidates applying for admission to undergraduate university studies at the Technical University of Civil Engineering Bucharest (UTCB), in accordance with the applicable regulations: Romanian citizens, citizens of European Union Member States / European Economic Area states / the Swiss Confederation, as well as other assimilated categories (such as individuals holding forms of protection or residence status – asylum seekers or refugees, where applicable), under the conditions set forth in the Regulation for the Organization of the Admission Competition.
