Frequently asked questions

Who may apply on the NON-EU page?

Non-EU foreign candidates who apply for admission to UTCB exclusively for tuition-based study places.

For the Preparatory Year of Romanian Language, Undergraduate Studies, and Master’s Degree Studies, depending on your selected option.

Yes. Registration is conducted entirely via admitereonline.utcb.ro.

Registration is usually open until the end of July (the exact deadline is specified in the admission calendar).

It means that you have uploaded the required documents, completed the steps within the platform, and your file has been forwarded to the admission committee for verification.

It means that your file has been reviewed by the committee and confirmed as correct: the documents are compliant and the information provided is complete.

Because UTCB prepares an official file that is transmitted to the Ministry of Education; illegible documents or a poor-quality photograph may delay the process and hinder the issuance of the required documents.

UTCB prepares the candidate’s file (based on the uploaded documents) for submission to the Ministry, in order to obtain the Letter of Acceptance to Studies.

Letters are generally issued and received between July and September, as files are processed (the exact timeframe depends on the Ministry’s procedures). Once UTCB receives the Letter, it is uploaded to the platform.

After issuance, UTCB uploads to the platform:
  • the Letter of Acceptance to Studies; and
  • proof of accommodation (student dormitory),
which you will use to apply for a study visa at the embassy.

You must immediately initiate the study visa procedure at the embassy and maintain communication with UTCB using the email address registered in the platform.

If, within a reasonable period following official communications (as specified in the calendar/procedure), you fail to provide information regarding your visa process and do not respond to emails, you may be considered non-confirmed and, consequently, rejected for the current session.

Candidates are evaluated by a committee based on the documents uploaded to the platform, including:
  • a motivation essay; and
  • a letter of intent.
Based on the grades obtained, candidates are ranked within the limits of the available places.

They must be clearly written, personalized, and coherent, addressing your genuine motivation for UTCB and the selected programme, your objectives, educational/professional background, career plans, and alignment with the field of study. The documents should be authentic and personally assumed by the candidate.

Depending on the stage of the process, the following lists may be published:
  • eligible candidates (usually after the closure of registration, when validated files become eligible);
  • admitted candidates (within the limits of available places);
  • waiting list candidates;
  • rejected candidates.
Once a candidate appears as “Rejected,” they cannot obtain a place during the respective admission session.

If an admitted candidate fails to confirm (does not continue the procedures or does not arrive in due time), candidates from the waiting list may be promoted to the admitted list, in the order of ranking.

Only if you meet the language requirement. If you do not know Romanian, you must complete the Preparatory Year of Romanian Language before enrolling in programmes taught in Romanian.

Yes, provided that the programme is offered in English/French and you meet the required language proficiency criteria (in accordance with the published regulations).

According to the admission calendar, candidates must arrive in Romania and formally confirm their place by 26 November. Failure to do so may result in rejection.

During September–October, you must communicate proof that you have officially initiated the visa process, such as: embassy appointment confirmation, submitted application forms, email confirmations, or other relevant official documentation.

In justified cases, if you can demonstrate that all procedures were initiated within the deadlines specified in the calendar (including by 26 November) and the delay is not attributable to you, your case may be examined individually in communication with UTCB.

Results are available in the platform and on admitere.utcb.ro. Appeals must be submitted to admission-info@utcb.ro strictly within the deadlines specified in the admission calendar.
